Pull Up A Seat!

So, there I was, running into my local natural food store, all set to pick up some unrefined shea butter. Spoiler alert: the shea butter wasn’t as unrefined as the label claimed. But…I digress.

I stumbled upon a curious little round object in an already-opened box. Naturally, my inner Angela Lansbury had to investigate. The box claimed it was a lotion bar. Y'all, I’m practically dinosaur-aged and had no idea such a thing existed! Intrigued, I did what any self-respecting curious chick would do—I smelled it and TOUCHED it. Smooth, yet dry to the touch, it felt like a revelation...but the real revelation came later.

Enter: the store worker. With the agility of a hawk, she swooped in, snatched the box from my hands, and said, "You touched it, so I have to take it off the shelf." Cue my mortified apology. Seriously, what was I thinking? But hey, curiosity got the best of me.

I felt a little embarrassed (if looks could kill) I bombarded her with questions about this newfound bar she was now clutching. She explained its use, and more, leaving me utterly convinced that this lotion bar needed a place in my collection.

Fast forward to yesterday—my first attempt at making a lotion bar. Honeeeey, let me tell you, it’s pure magic. Not only was it the easiest DIY project I’ve tackled, but the result was sheer perfection. Unlike that other bar, my creation had zero traces of dryness. That’s what it’s supposed to feel like! I felt like I cracked some uncrack-able code!

Ever found yourself squeezing out too much lotion and then awkwardly offering it to anyone nearby? Yeah, me too. That won’t happen with these! Lotion bars give you just the right amount every time. No mess, no fuss. Plus, they're perfect for travel—no more lugging around bulky lotion bottles.

And the smell? Divine. I paired mine with jasmine and santal, creating a scent that’s delightfully unisex. Men, don’t shy away—you can totally rock a floral scent. But if you’re not feeling the flower power, no worries. A dash of teakwood or tobacco bay leaf will do the trick.

So, if you haven’t yet explored the world of lotion bars, consider this your official invitation. Dive in and discover the convenience and luxury wrapped up in one little bar. Your skin will thank you, and who knows—you might just become a lotion bar convert like me! Once I get more cutesy molds for these and slightly bigger containers, I will be adding these to my collection. Here’s the picture of how they came out. This is my unedited- make- the picture look-so-perfect snap-shot. Ignore the label. I have not graduated from Canva yet!
